Welcome to my webpage! To quickly know me and my research, you can check my CV here.
I now lead the SAAS (Scalable, Adaptive, and Affordable Systems) Research Lab at Peking University. My primary research interests fall in software systems and services for distributed computing, from the mobile to the cloud. My recent research projects focus on building "ubiquitous" machine learning systems and serverless computing systems. I am a Distinguished Member of the ACM and the CCF, and a Senior Member of the IEEE.
Most of my recent efforts have been published on prestigious conferences (i.e., those listed under the "System" along with related areas on csrankings ) including ICSE/FSE, WWW/IMC/SIGMETRICS, SOSP/ASPLOS/SIGCOMM/NSDI/MobiCom/MobiSys, and high-impact journals including ACM TOSEM/TOIS and IEEE TSE/TMC/TSC.
The common principle guiding my research is to pursue real-world research problems that are intellectually interesting and practically meaningful, address them through novel and fundamental approaches, validate the approaches with rigorous evaluations (especially on production systems with real-world users), and impact both academia and industry with significant research results.
I work with both graduate and undergraduate students. If you find our recent work interesting, and enjoy "hacking" systems or making real-world data analytics by/with advanced artificial intelligence techniques, please try to email me with your CV for opportunities.
